ATTENTION AUDIO SENTRY CUSTOMERS

There have been several changes over that last few years that may affect the communications between your security system and our Central station monitoring facility.

Many customers are abandoning their old fashioned "hardwired" phone lines and switching to cellular phones only, while others getting their phone service from their cable television or Internet provider. A "hardwired" phone connects via an actual wire that exists in your home. This wire connects to a small terminal block in your home and then goes directly to a telephone pole or box and from there, direct to the phone company.

An Internet based phone service connects to the modem supplied by your cable provider. It is fairly simple to tell the difference.

If you are considering switching to a phone service as supplied by a cable company (WOW, COMCAST, AT&T U-Verse), or a Do It Yourself set-up (VONAGE or MAGIC JACK), or have already done so, please call our office A.S.A.P. This switch may affect the connection to our Central Station and we need to verify if alarm signals are or are not being received properly.

It it extremely important that this testing be completed. There are many examples of customers not aware of this problem and they have gone un-monitored for several months, all the while assuming the system was totally functional. This is the reason we put the recommendation to "TEST YOUR SYSTEM , MONTHLY" on each monthly invoice we send.

PLEASE CONTACT OUR OFFICE IF YOU ARE AT ALL CONSIDERING THIS CHANGE.
